The second Arabic-language DHIS2 Academy, organized by HISP MENA in collaboration with the HISP Centre at the University of Oslo, is underway!

The HISP MENA team welcomed 30 participants from six Arab countries, representing a wide range of national Ministries of Health from Jordan, Yemen, Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria, as well as officials from United Nations agencies (including WHO country offices, IOM, and EMPHNET), and the academic sector.

During this Tracker Configuration Academy, held 3 May to 8 May in Amman, Jordan, the HISP MENA team emphasized the importance of continuous training on DHIS2 technologies and features to ensure the availability of data that supports decision-making and improves the design, development, and maintenance of information platforms powered by DHIS2.

On behalf of the Jordanian Ministry of Health, Dr. Yara Al-Hadadeen from the Department of Projects, Planning, and International Cooperation delivered the opening speech. She warmly welcomed participants from across the Arab world and highlighted the significance of such academies in building national team capacities and sustaining health information systems.

Dr. Al-Hadadeen also stressed the importance of the partnership with HISP MENA in enhancing DHIS2 utilization and its integration with other national information systems, such as HAKEEM, health mapping systems, and other data platforms.
