HISP MENA

We participated in the planning meeting held by the University of Oslo at HISP MENA in Addis Ababa. Over three intensive days, we discussed important updates to the advanced information technology academies and specializations related to DHIS2 capacity building. These updates include the addition of new academic materials, the development of new skills, and updates to training materials.

We are also pleased to announce that upcoming academies will focus on managing logistics information systems, linking information systems and data exchange, advanced configuration of individual data collection applications (Advanced Configuration Tracker Academy), and advanced skills in setting up and managing servers and hosting the DHIS2 system according to best administrative and technical practices.

At HISP MENA, we delivered several presentations and a detailed overview of the needs of countries in the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa region. These presentations focused on capacity building and developing the technical and administrative skills necessary to lead the region's digital transformation. We also announced our priorities for the coming year, which include studying the region's needs and offering several foundational and advanced academies to help govern and institutionalize the local capacities of national teams within the region's ministries of health.

Finally, at HISP MENA, we highlighted the importance of designing specialized training packages that integrate health informatics and public health. These packages will help improve decision-making, health planning, and health research, and will be available in Arabic, English, and French, in response to the needs of our countries in the region.
